In 2013 we officially started providing Consulting services to satisfied customers all around the world, not yet under the GoCodeIT name.
As word spread, our customer base grew. With this, we needed a name. This marked the creation of our name, GoCodeIT. At the time, most consulting jobs were administration, architecture, and programming, so the name fit well.
Toronto's hosting market has never been the greatest, most large providers were not present here at the time and the ones that were considered it a publicity pop, either always out of stock or with inferior infrastructure. We took this to our advantage and began suggesting our customers stay with us for their hosting needs as well, beginning our experimental venture called "Host-Pls".
Our hosting offers began getting the attention of prospective clients that were solely interested in hosting, this was the official beginning, and concrete business case, of Host-Pls as a sub-brand. This spurred an exponential growth in our hosting business as companies from outside of Toronto began using our services for the Toronto market. We purchased our own servers routers, and officially began our hosting business alongside consulting.
After several years of relying on other Toronto networks, we realized that every tier 1 has their own issues. Every local provider is missing critical connectivity in the region, or has ridiculous pricing. We decided the only solution was to make our own blend, and after extensive research we created AS62513. Our blend now peers directly with over 200 local companies, and has the best of the best as its upstreams. It did not take long for others to see our improved quality and our customer base expanded quickly.
As we grew, we realized we needed a more established company. This led us to GoCodeIt becoming an offical Canadian Corporation in June 2020. Now we have officially become a company that our customers can trust. At this point, we had over one hundred hosting clients, and several hundred completed consulting jobs. We had successfully established a presence in both industries, and needed to prove that we not going anywhere any time soon.
After several years of continued growth and success, we had proven ourself in the local industry. This is where we began our official expansion of hosting and cloud offerings in the Toronto market. Starting only with pay-as-you-go compute services, we officially began work on our own bespoke cloud platform. Our service has always been offered with the goal of a having premium quality without the premium price. We soon realized that customers come to us because of our premium connectivity offerings, and decided we needed to be in a datacenter with the most choice and expandability. Equinix TR2 provides this without any issues. Growth is as important to us as it is to our customers, and we cannot provide flexibility to them if we do not have flexibility ourselves. Our network is 10G and above only, and we have succeeded in providing an uptime that exceeds even that of our upstreams.
